Interesting I've been calling it sin signalling. It can also be a sort of power peacocking, "Look at me I'm so powerful I can get away with this vile thing." type stuff. It's not a modern creation but it's certainly popular with certain highly visible political clusters atm.
Sadly there is a notable amount of posts to hn that get close to zero attention due to bad titling. Though at least the hn crowd doesn't favour miserably bait focused social media style titling as strongly.
That article is from 10 years ago and it was just a checkup after a call in and no penalty so it doesn't seem comparable. Even the child services people quoted in the article emphasize that about half of these checkups involve no further action or penalties including that case.
I've enjoyed high protein ones more than common plant milks because they are a bit thicker. I usually get unsweetened versions of the basic protein versions you see in grocery stores. Iirc traditionally soy drinks tend to be a fair amount thicker than what the west tends to get with plants milks (and cow milk tbf) and that's something I can definitively get behind.
One thing I've noticed too is that chocolate plant milks tend to be a lot more chocolatey than grocery store milks which tend to feel watered down and kind of disappointing.
I really enjoy checking out journalism awards. It's often a great way to both find new sites/orgs etc and also maybe run into some intriguing or deeper written stuff you may have overlooked. Checking for journalism awards for your region can really add to that appeal especially if you are outside the US and you feel a little drowned out by their news.
There are a fair amount of open source games out there and some great lists but I mainly wanted to highlight with this comment that itch and steam both have ways to find them. Hell I was just playing one earlier to check out the new content (drl).
